How important is your smile?

What would you change about your smile?

In a survey conducted by Simply Teeth most people (28%) said that if they could change one thing about their teeth it would be to have whiter teeth and 14% said that they wanted straighter teeth.  Only 10% said that they wouldn’t change anything.

Increasingly in the UK people want their teeth to be white and even.  Unlike in the US however, people in the UK are more likely to say that they want a natural smile, not gleaming white teeth that have obviously been whitened.

Reasons to smile

  •  When you smile you’re showing others that you’re happy to see them.
  •  Smiling gives you an instant facelift.  Frowning has the opposite effect.
  •  You can earn the trust of customers with a warm smile.
  •  Be kind to your heart.  Smiling can reduce blood pressure and decrease your risk of developing heart disease.

Teeth Whitening

It’s now more socially acceptable to admit to having had cosmetic surgery or cosmetic dentistry such as teeth whitening.

Smoking and drinking tea, coffee or red wine are all causes of  unsightly stains on your teeth.

Research has shown that teeth whitening is perfectly safe for teeth and gums.  If you’re concerned about surface stains on your teeth then professional teeth whitening gel (supplied by your dentist) can be used in conjunction with custom made trays.  These trays need to be worn for several hours a day (for about 2-4 weeks) to slowly whiten your teeth. If you struggle to give up your daily caffeine fix then your smile can be refreshed every 6-9 months by wearing these trays for a few days (or nights).

Dental Appliances

Are you put off correcting your smile because you’re concerned about the cost or that the dental appliance will be too visible?

Crooked teeth can be straightened at any age by wearing specially made removable dental appliances.  You no longer need to feel embarrassed to smile because you have crooked teeth.

A good smile is a powerful thing. We’re conditioned to associate a good set of teeth with youthfulness and fertility.

Smile, it is the key that fits the lock of everybody’s heart
